Quilting with Paper

After creating all these beautiful papers with Foam Printing and Paste Paper, I began playing with color combinations and laying them out.  I just love the array of textures it gives me and it is a more immediate, sew-free way to quilt.  Paste Paper, by the way, is a spectacular and wild adventure!  Explore this limitless artform if you ever have the chance. I have taken the class twice in North Brookfield with a lovely artist named Elizabeth Hyder.  I will go there whenever I need new papers.  She graciously gave us the recipe, but it involves cooking and those of you who know me, know that my creativity definitely does not extend to the kitchen!  (Thank goodness I have a spouse who mostly enjoys it.)

I'd kind of forgotten these paintings, but seeing them now, I realize they are the precursor to the Paper Mosaics I am creating now.  I guess I was headed in this direction all along.
