I lump these three paper paintings for a number of reasons. The first two below are paintings that I did before I knew there was such a thing as Mixed Media Collage. I was entranced by the neat textures and vibrant colors of patterned paper and experimented with adding them to my paintings. I liked the outcomes but felt that they did not get as warm a reception as my oils, so I put it aside and concentrated on painting for a while. Little did I know that other artists were doing the same experimenting, even perfecting the craft! The third, "Bouquet," was done more recently under guidance of a great collage artist, Elizabeth Saint Hilaire, from whom I learned so many more techniques!
